The Indoor PIR Sensor for Ceiling Mount from UKEW® is a high-performance motion detector designed for seamless integration into home and commercial lighting systems. Featuring a full 360° detection range of up to 6 meters, it provides comprehensive area coverage. This sensor utilizes a high-sensitivity detector and integrated circuit to automatically control lighting, offering a perfect blend of convenience, safety, and energy savings. Key features include adjustable ambient light levels (SUN/MOON modes) to ensure operation only when needed, and a continuously adding time-delay function that resets the countdown with each new motion detected. Capable of handling loads up to 1200W (incandescent) and 300W (LED/CFL) at 220-240V, it's suitable for controlling multiple lights. The compact PC material housing is designed for easy ceiling installation via a spring-loaded clip mechanism, fitting standard cut-out holes.

Key Features of Indoor Ceiling Mount PIR Sensor

  • Full 360° Detection: Provides complete area coverage with a maximum detection distance of 6 meters .

  • Adjustable Ambient Light (LUX): Sun mode for day/night operation; Moon mode for night-only (<3 LUX) operation, adjustable from <3 to 2000 LUX .

  • Adjustable Time Delay: Set the 'on' period from a minimum of 10 seconds to a maximum of 7 minutes .

  • High Load Capacity: Controls up to 1200W (incandescent) or 300W (energy-saving/LED) loads on 220-240V supply .

  • Continually Adding Time Delay: Each new detection resets the timer from that moment, ensuring lights stay on in occupied areas .

  • Easy Ceiling Installation: Fits into a ceiling cut-out using a built-in metal spring clip mechanism for quick, secure mounting .

  • Wide Operating Temperature: Reliable operation from -20°C to +40°C .

  • Low Power Consumption: Consumes only 0.45W when active and 0.1W in standby .

  • Versatile Application: Ideal for offices, corridors, stairwells, bathrooms, and open-plan areas.

  • Adjustable Detection Sensitivity: Allows fine-tuning of the 6m detection range .

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. How do I adjust the sensor to only work at night?
Turn the LUX adjustment dial on the sensor towards the MOON symbol. This sets the sensor to activate the light only when the ambient light level falls below approximately 3 LUX (i.e., darkness) .

2. How does the "continually adding time-delay" feature work?
If the sensor detects motion again while the light is already on from a previous detection, it resets the time-delay period from that moment. The light will only turn off after the full set time has passed with no further motion detected.

3. What is the maximum load for LED lights?
When connected to a 220-240V supply, the maximum load for energy-saving or LED lamps is 300W. Do not exceed this to avoid damaging the sensor or connected lights.

4. How is this sensor installed in a ceiling?
It is designed for easy clip-in installation. You make a hole in the ceiling of the appropriate size, connect the wiring, then fold the two metal springs up, push the sensor into the hole, and the springs will snap out to hold it firmly in place .

5. Can I use this sensor in a bathroom?
Yes, as an indoor sensor, it can be used in bathrooms, provided it is installed in a suitable zone and protected from direct water spray. Ensure the electrical connections are safe and comply with local regulations.
