The Evolve 45A Cooker Control Unit with Socket in Pearl White is the perfect blend of safety, functionality, and modern design for your kitchen. Finished in a luxurious pearlescent white with clean white inserts, this unit adds a subtle, elegant touch to any cooking area while providing robust control for your electric cooker or oven. The dedicated 45A rated switch allows you to safely isolate the appliance for cleaning, maintenance, or emergencies, giving you complete peace of mind.
What sets this unit apart is the integrated 13A neon socket – a practical addition often missing from standard cooker switches. This allows you to power a kettle, microwave, or other kitchen appliance directly from the control unit without needing a separate wall socket. The built-in neon light clearly indicates when the cooker is live, enhancing safety at a glance. Designed to fit a deeper 47mm back box (sold separately), this unit offers a flush, professional finish that stands up to daily kitchen use.
Choosing the Evolve cooker control unit means you no longer have to choose between a dedicated cooker switch and an extra power outlet. It combines both in one seamless, stylish plate – ideal for modern kitchens where counter space and convenience matter. The pearlescent white finish is not only attractive but also resistant to yellowing and kitchen grease, keeping your wall looking fresh for years. With clear neon indication and a robust 45A rating, it meets all UK safety standards for high-power cooking appliances. Whether you’re upgrading an existing kitchen or specifying for a new build, this unit offers a smarter, safer, and more beautiful solution.

1. Do I need a special back box for this unit?
Yes. This unit requires a 47mm deep back box to accommodate the wiring for both the cooker circuit and the socket. A standard 35mm box will be too shallow. If you are replacing an existing unit, check your back box depth first.
2. Is the neon light for the cooker or the socket?
The built-in neon indicator lights up only when the 13A socket is live. It does not indicate the status of the cooker isolation switch. Always check the main switch position before servicing your cooker.
3. Can I use this unit with a gas cooker that needs an electrical supply?
Yes. Many gas cookers require a 13A supply for ignition, lights, or timers. You can wire the gas cooker into the load side of the 45A switch, using the separate 13A socket for other appliances. However, always consult a qualified electrician for the correct wiring method.
4. What is the maximum total load?
The cooker control unit is rated at 45A for the cooker circuit. The built-in socket is rated at 13A. They are independent, so you can use a full 45A cooker plus a 13A appliance in the socket simultaneously, provided your household wiring and circuit breaker support it.
5. Is professional installation required?
Absolutely. Cooker circuits carry high current (often 30A to 45A). Incorrect installation can cause fire or electric shock. Always hire a Part P registered electrician in the UK to install or replace a cooker control unit.
